Gold's has announced that the venue will be closed permanently on December 2, as the landlord has decided not to renew the lease at the end of 2021. "I think the loss of Gold's Gym on Military has a huge impact on the community because there are fewer gyms and fitness facilities on Southside," he told MySA. "The atmosphere at The Gold's Gym on Military was really great. Everyone was friendly and everyone was there for their own reasons. But overall you can see we all had the same mindset."
With the exception of Valley Hi and Brooks Gyms, all Gold's Gym locations are north of Highway 90.
Southsiders who prefer a gym closer to home than their loyalty to Gold's will find a list of amenities at Tru Fit, including a sauna, women's exercise room, daycare center, lawn, cycling studio, and more. Photos shared by the brand on Facebook show sections of free weights, squat racks, stair climbers, treadmills, agility ladders, maintenance balls, and kettle balls.
